This WebSDR is hosted at Goonhilly Earth Station in Cornwall at 50.0524°, -5.1823° (IO70JB).
The WebSDR was upgraded in September 2022 for additional amateur bands.
Following a motherboard failure the PC has also been upgraded in December 2022 with a newer and more powerful CPU, resolving the previous dropped-sample issues on 23cm/13cm.
144-146MHz
The VHF band uses an AMSAT VHF Turnstile antenna, with a G0MRF Preamp and an RTL-SDR. A FUNcube Groundstation using a FUNcube Dongle is also fed from the Preamp.
This WebSDR can be used to listen to live transmissions from the International Space Station, including SSTV on 145.800MHz FM

435-437MHz
The 70cms system uses a UHF turnstile antenna with MGF103 pre-amp from Antennas-Amplifiers at masthead and an RTL-SDR dongle.
Many CubeSats and other satellites can be heard on this band
It is planned to add additional SDR hardware to receive the 432-435 MHz part of the band in the future.
1296-1298MHz
The 23cms system uses a 13 element yagi with a mast head narrow pass band filter followed G4DDK VLNA preamplifier. This feeds an Airspy SDR which is locked to a 10MHz Leo Bodnar GPS frequency reference.
The main purpose of this SDR is to monitor for tropo propagation to the south of the UK via the Azores high pressure zones, (the antenna heading is 213deg.)
GB3MCB, the Cornish 23cms beacon, can be heard on 1296.860MHz (actually 1296.856MHz in September 2022).
2320–2321MHz
The 13cms system uses a 21 element yagi with a mast head SSB Electronics 2320 to 144MHz down converter with an external 90.66667MHz local oscillator signal generated by a Leo Bodnar frequency reference locked to GPS. This feeds an AirSpy SDR which is locked to a 10MHz Leo Bodnar GPS frequency reference, (shared with the 23cm system).
Like the 23cm system the 13cm system is to monitor tropo propagation to the south of the UK via the Azores high pressure zones, (the antenna heading is 213deg.).
Under normal conditions no beacons are within range, the nearest is GB3SCS on 2320.905MHz.

Please note that there will be a short interruption to this facility on either the 27th or 28th of November to replace networking equipment.
